World Premiere of Christóbal Halffter’s La rebelión de los ecos in Basel

On January 19, members of the Basel Symphony Orchestra will give the world premiere of Christóbal Halffter’s La rebelión de los ecos. This work, scored for double string quartet, will be presented in a special concert for the Museums Nacht Basel.
Spanish composer, Christóbal Halffter has received countless awards and honors for his contributions to music, including the Gold Medal for Fine Arts by King Juan Carlos of Spain, Doctor honoris causa of the University of Léon, the European Prize for Composition, the Kieler Kulturpreis 2014, and the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso X the Wise, among others. His compositional output includes numerous works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, instrumental soloists, choir (accompanied and a cappella), and opera.
