AXIOM's All-Berio Program at Alice Tully Hall

The intrepid American conductor Jeffrey Milarsky led Juilliard’s AXIOM in a performance of music by Luciano Berio on December 1 at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.  The program was a fitting tribute to the late composer who served on The Juilliard School's faculty from 1965-1971 and included several of his best-loved works including Folk Songs, originally written for Berio’s wife Cathy Berberian and sung here by mezzo-soprano Kady Evanyshyn, Sequenza I performed by flutist Giorgio Consolati, Sequenza XIV with cellist Khari Joyner and points on the curve to find… highlighting the talents of pianist Tengku Irfan.

AXIOM, which made its debut in 2006, is dedicated to performing works of the 20th and 21st centuries and has become one of the foremost ensembles in New York’s contemporary music scene.
